The Oaks Course at the Welk
Family golf alternatives - Fun for all ages & skills
FlingGolf
One club is all you need to play FlingGolf, a fun sport where you start on the teeing ground and toss the ball down the fairway like you would in a game of baseball or lacrosse. You continue throwing the golf ball from each spot that your ball rests until you have made it to the green. Once on the green, you can use the FlingStick™ as a putter with a hockey style motion.
Ready to test your fling and putt skills around the course and master the game of FlingGolf clinics are offered by Jake Anderson #4 WLF on Sundays and Wednesdays at The Welk in Escondido.

Disc Golf
Similar to traditional golf, disc golf is played using the same general rules, terminology, and etiquette, but instead of using golf clubs and a ball, the player throws a high-tech flying disc into a targeted basket. The objective mirrors that of golf – the player with the fewest throws wins. The Oaks Course at The Welk also features tall, mature trees in play as obstacles and rolling hills on many of the holes creating a fun, challenging disc-throwing experience.
FootGolf
All ages will get a kick out of FootGolf! Take a soccer ball and shoot for the giant holes around The Oaks course - a great way to introduce new players to the golf course. Soccer balls provided.

Encinitas Ranch Golf Course
Putting Green – Take on the short game challenge with the fun mini putting course in Encinitas. Free to the public every day; complimentary putters are available in the pro shop.
Chipping Green- The pitching green area was specifically designed to enhance a players' wedge game and provide additional short-game skills training. Players can practice chipping onto a picturesque putting green with three flagged holes. State-of-the-art artificial turf was installed to ensure consistent conditions all year long.
Putting Course - Each set includes six holes, so if you play both sets, you get in twelve holes. It features benches around the greens, where you can take in views of the Pacific Ocean and watch your friends putt. For those who do not have equipment, complimentary use of adult putters, golf balls, and junior putters are available in the Pro Shop. The putting course is free to golf guests and residents.
